Review of Gods and Generals (2003) by Robert D — 08 Jun 2007
Not as good as Gettysburg but mainly due to the book having so much material that you would have to make a huge mini-series out of it but it still ranks as a very accurate film of American History. The charge of the Irish Brigrade, Iron Brigade and the 20th Maine up to the stonewall at Fredericksburg are hauntingly realistic along with Jackson's greatest moment historically at Chancellorsville with his surprise attack on the Army of the Potomacs left flank.
