My main complaint is that the plot seems kind of jumpy. It seems like the plot is just an excuse to jump from battle scene to battle scene. I also thought that the battle scenes were a little too tame. They don't get across the brutality of the war.
I did like how the film showed both Federal and Confederate viewpoints of the war. The causes of the Civil War were numerous and varied, and this film did at least make an attempt to show some of the causes.
The film seems very long. I know I had to break it up into a few sections.
