Review of God Grew Tired of Us (2006) by Jin L — 06 Oct 2008
The most interesting thing a movie can do is turn the camera back at the audience. As we hear the tales of the Lost Boys, we discover more and more about our own culture. There is irony to our country.
We open our arms to the tired, the poor and huddled masses. Yet, we also have an extreme fear of others. The loneliness they feel in their American lives is heart wrenching, but the duty they feel to their homeland is inspiring.
