Review of God Grew Tired of Us (2006) by Kenneth Y — 18 May 2010
Story of the Lost Boys from Sudan and how they escaped Sudan only to end up in a crappy camp in I think it was Kenya for 10+ years. Anyway, a few of them get chosen to come to the United States. Interesting on how they relate to our society about things like not being able to talk to your neighbors without them calling the cops, our version of Christmas, and how pretty much nobody seems to want to help each other here in this country. The one dude, I think his name was John Bul Dau (the tall guy) especially seems full of wisdom and insight.
Wish they would of spent a little more time discussing their 1,000 mile roadtrip on foot in Africa to escape their enemies, but you cant have everything. Definitely a movie you should see!
