Review of God Bless America (2012) by Sausages M — 11 Dec 2012
Incredibly flawed satire with a point to make that ultimately gets lost in an orgy of violence. Worse still, the first 30 minutes feels like it was written by an angry 18 year old leftie with no understanding of the complexities of society, or of the human condition. As fantasy schlock you can mostly keep on in the background it's okay, but the message is so confused. I'm just not sure what they're trying to say? Shoot idiots? What?
Tara Barr is the best thing in it, but Murray's performance is believably banal until he opens his mouth with his moralistic diatribes, which feel too read.
