Trying to make Romeo and Juliet into a kid's animated film is a very difficult to do and I have to say I think they did a pretty good job of it. It was definitely very interesting using lawn gnomes.
But I thought it was really cute and very bright and cheery for being such a dark story, which I think is okay in a children's film. I recommend this for family night.
