Review of Gnomeo & Juliet (2011) by Caz H — 03 Jan 2014

The cast in this is ridiculous so I had high hopes but this all just fell a bit flat for me. Romeo and Juliet has never been a favourite Shakespeare of mine, so it was potentially never going to be something I loved, but I just found the comedy never quite hit the mark and the romance slightly unbelievable.

There were some cute moments - the flamingo and his story stole my heart slightly - and I liked Juliet's desire for some form of female empowerment and it did entertain me. It just wasn't a massive success.
