Review of Gnomeo & Juliet (2011) by Cynthia S — 22 Aug 2011

Maybe it is just because I'm a big kid at heart but I loved this film. It was just plain funny to me and yes, the love story was there but it was done with humour I'd say. Even my parents liked this film.

Although this film will definitely appeal to the kids, the classic story of Romeo and Juliet I think is somewhat different in this one but still along the lines of what we may know about it. Although too, this story isn't really about the Montagues and Capulets but rather the gnomes who reside at their residences, those being the blue gnomes and the red gnomes.

Well, as this isn't for everyone, you have to go into this movie with an expectation of wanting to laugh, as there are scenes that will surely do that for you, like the lawn mower racing scene, when those little gnomes dance and cheer. :) And it helps to feel like a kid when watching it too. :) So if you do get to see it, I hope you can enjoy it and get a few laughs out of it too.
