Beautifully shot in some captivating locations, Glorious 39 is still a limp and fatuous tale with a so-what ending. A shame, as the involvement of the aristocracy with Hitler's rise to power begs for a more informative and thrilling treatment but you won't find it here in this decidedly girly movie.
The cast are superb but a lacklustre script gives them little to do except act posh while a severe lack of action does little to alleviate boredom. Toff tosh. 1 star for the breathtaking scenery and interiors.
