Review of Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) by Holly G — 23 Oct 2009
I know I'm in the minority here but I just don't think the adaptation from play to film was well achieved. The screenplay felt unnatural, though the material was fascinating. Pacino and Spacey deliver well, and Jack Lemmon's Shelley is so sad and pathetic its almost painful to watch him in action.
However, I found the film hard to follow and a bit strange--and the symbolic representations of society felt lost and overshadowed by the dramatic performances.
