Review of Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) by Suvo P — 19 Jan 2013
Absolute delight of a film. A fine story, with an equally great screenplay; and witty, brilliant and memorable dialogues. All it needed was great performances from the actors and boy, did the actors deliver.
Al Pacino, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin, Alec Baldwin - Every single one of them was perfect in their role. But, for me the cherry on top was Jack Lemmon. He truly etched those different emotions like vulnerabilities, rage, triumph on the screen. Add to that, his style of selling properties. The tone he used. It was a superlative performance.
It was old school filmmaking. To quote Al Pacino's Ricky Roma, "That was admirable. It was the old stuff.".
