Review of Glen or Glenda (1953) by I Don't Know W — 06 Jul 2011
Most know Ed Wood's debut as a notoriety, but it is certainly one of the most personal film debuts out there, with some of the most bizarre and unusual sequences edited together. A textbook example of what not to do.
It sometimes seems like an educational video on men crossdressing, with narration, then it has a story of a couple with a man with a crossdressing fetish secret, but then has some bizarre S&M scenes in a nightmare, a doctor played by Bela Lugosi saying some bizarrely unintelligable nonsense.
As for personal, it's damn personal. Too bad he couldn't weave it together more competently. But maybe that's the charm. And I still don't understand what "Pull The Strings" means.
