Review of Glen or Glenda (1953) by Nathan W — 02 Feb 2005
Before someone asks, yes I did go see Alone in the Dark, but no, I didn't want to. I was dragged kicking and screaming to see this film and I didn't even pay for my ticket. The kicking and screaming was completely justified as this is probably the worst film I have ever seen. I can understand why Christian Slater would accept this script and do this film, because he hasn't had a career in years, but Stephen Dorff and Tara Reid? They were too young to die!
...Well Tara Reid was never a good actress to begin with, so there's no loss there. The biggest question of all that this film poses is why does director Uwe Boll have a career at all? Can nobody at these studios see how horrible his films are and how trashed they've become by critics?
"Somewhere, Ed Wood is resting pretty comfortably right now." -- Scott Weinberg, EFILMCRITIC.COM
.
This quote was taken from a review of Alone in the Dark,Uwe Boll has indeed taken the crown for worst director of all time away from Edward D. Wood Jr. However, none of Boll's films are as fun to watch as Wood's.
Plan 9 From Outer Space and Glen or Glenda are the best examples ever of a film so bad, it's good.
