Review of Glen or Glenda (1953) by Victor L — 09 Nov 2008
"Glen Or Glenda" tells the story of a man who is a transvestite and has to tell the love of his life about his secret before they get married. The movie is partly a drama, but also a documentary and a self biography of it's director, the infamous Edward D.
Wood Jr (who was a transvestite). This was Ed Wood's first full length film and also his most personal one. It has some surreal elements (that director David Lynch seems to have picked up on), stars Bela Lugosi as a type of narrator that only makes things more complicated and has one of the most boring storylines ever.
Still it's a Ed Wood film and has some interesting (read: weird and funny) parts that might make it worth watching for some people...
