Review of Glass (2019) by Mark C — 22 Jan 2019
As if many of us needed reminding, but Glass is more evidence of how lazy critics are, they don't know what they are reviewing having no idea what the prequels were about, this lack of understanding just demonstrates that the critic circuit should be ignored, most of the critics reviews I've read have clearly shown they don't know the source material.
I've seen Glass, and it takes the spirit of unbreakable and takes us back to the feel of the grounded super hero movie, exploring the possibility that comic books got their ideas from somewhere, and that someone more than a man is out there, this was Mr Glass agenda all along, he continues that because Kevin Wendell Crumb confirms his theory via the beast.
Samuel L Jackson pulls off the tortured mastermind brilliantly, wanting all along to quantify his existence and show the world that despite his ailment, he was not a mistake, he was the result of balance, where a superhuman must exist, the opposite must also exist.
Proof of how many critics don't understand what they are watching is by making ridiculous comments like Shyamalan hates comic book heroes, this comes from lazy critics not paying attention to the movie, the psychiatrist attempts to make Crumb, Dunn and Mr Glass believe they are not special and have delusions grandeur, and this is where most of the critics then switch off completely, because as the way with Shyamalan movies, there is always a twist and you find out later all was not what it seemed with the psychiatrist.
I hope, like me, and as many Venom fans will attest, you do not pay attention to these so called critics and go and see the film for yourself, admittedly, it does help to have seen Unbreakable and Split, but if you have, then you won't be disappointed, my only gripe was not having the Unbreakable musical score in Glass, and how the film ends for David Dunn (Bruce Willis), but I understand the reason Shyamalan chose to end the movie in the way he did, ultimately to bring closure on it all and to reinforce the agenda of the people the psychiatrist works for.
In summary, forget the critics, most of them clearly have never seen Unbreakable or Split, and for this reason alone, they have no right to publish their views, I think you should only trust those that have seen both prequels and if you know these movies, you will know from reading the reviews, many of these reviewers have not, and are basically talking out of their backsides.
