Everything about this film is outstanding and well worthy of it's five Oscar wins. Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix and Connie Nielsen give outstanding performances and work with a script filled with amazing lines.
The progression in this film is excellent with a strong storyline that is character driven. The plot itself is outstanding and everything comes together in an emotional and perfect ending. This film is clear source material with no cliches or stereotypes from that era.
The score is filled with emotion. One of the beat films ever produced.
