Review of Give 'em Hell, Malone (2009) by Richard S — 01 Feb 2010
An odd one this, saw the trailer ages ago for it and then nothing. I think they just spent their whole budget on the film and left nothing for advertising.
After an incredibley violent open scene the film turns into a sort of parody/homage to every PI cliche but revels in it. The breathless dame, the hard drinking tough guy PI, the snitches, the double cross. You name it, it's all there.
The movie doesn't seem to mind, Thomas Jane does his stuff and with Ving (I'll work if you send a car for me) Rhames in support this little violent crime dram is worth a watch just out of curiosity.
It's not the Ace Manly PI film that John wants but it's the closest so far...
