Review of Give 'em Hell, Malone (2009) by Tuija S — 02 Mar 2010
I don't know if this is a good or bad movie, but it sure was a lot of fun. The movie is a throwback to the classic noire films of the day the are based around a private eye trying to solve a case. However, it has a more modern twist to it. What makes the movie for me is the performances we get from the actors. Tom Jane plays a private investigator and brings a whole new level of cool to the role and yet still keeps the old school feel of a Humphrey Bogart role. We get a villian named "Matchstick" who is a pyromaniac and has played with fire one too many time. We also get a asian chick who is creepy and has a taste for the theatrical and for blood.
Overall, it's a solid popcorn flick that doesn't exactly blow you away, but won't leave you dissapointed. It's one of those one-and-done type of movies so I recommend that if your interested in seeing this, then you should rent on Netflix or something.
