It is difficult to give this movie three stars. There is not one likable character in this entire film. Everyone is pretentious, vacuous, self-absorbed, and loathsome. Everyone is a smarmy sales-person promising others that they can make their dreams come true, when in fact, they're all merely out for themselves.
Perhaps that's the way the film tries to portray all human behavior, however, likability of at least one character makes a film worth watching. This film is missing that likability factor. The storyline is intriguing enough to make this film better than garbage, but it's not a great film by any means.
This is essentially a fictional documentary about the everyday life of a New York escort and her gym-trainer boyfriend. Everyone treats her like crap, everyone treats him like crap, they both treat each other, and everyone else they meet like crap.
It's a crapfest. :P.
