Despite an understated yet distinctly obvious plot 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' is a superbly crafted and beautiful film. Through it's use of lighting, makeup and sets this film is a literal work of art.
Scarlett Johannson further enforces her reputation as one of Hollywood's most effective and beautiful new actors and makes the film entirely worthwhile.
