Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Isabella H — 10 May 2011
Featuring an all-star cast, an eloquent soundtrack and fine performances, this powerful drama triumphs on many levels and is wonderfully enthralling from start to finish. Several scenes are remarkably poignant and Jolie's charismatic sociopath steals the screen during every appearance.
Hollywood cliches seem to lurk beneath the memoir-adapted narrative, but are overshadowed by the film's commanding characters and superb direction. Engaging, entertaining, and definitely worth watching.
