Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Orpheus A — 04 Aug 2012
Yet another yawn inducing Hollywood bore-fest that fails to be nearly as edgy and interesting as it yearns to be. Coming across like a sanitized chick-flick variation on the brilliant ' One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest', with glossy nineties camera work (you know how I love that stuff so much), peformances by well known Hollywood Actresses of every stereotypical mental illness patient imaginable(Jolie won an Oscar for this? If that isn't a perfect summary of the self congratulatory tosh of that sycophantic ceremony I don't know what.
) all done in over the top, predictably Hollywood manner. Iv'e been reliably informed that the book is much better (as is usually the case anyway)and I say stick to that instead...
