Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Hamidgoodarzi — 25 Jun 2023
McMurphy and Lisa Angelina Jolie's beautiful performance, which the film is based on, also won her an Oscar. And the very good performance of Winona Ryder, who worked hard for her role, is the strong point of the film.
This psychological drama is based on the memoirs of Susanna Kaysen, who spent 18 months in a mental hospital between 1967 and 1968 after attempting suicide. This movie is kind of reminiscent of the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", especially the character "Lisa" is very similar to "McMurphy".
And both films rely on these two characters.
