Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Matt M — 20 Mar 2013
Based on the autobiographical story of Susana Kaysen, a writer who spent time in a mental hospital after an attempted suicide. This film can't help but feel a little too disappointing, particularly when considering the quality of the female cast, with Jolie and Ryder turning in some impressive performances.
Narratively it lacks originality, and visually it lacks creativity, and this often results in dullness.
