Review of Ginger & Rosa (2012) by Tatsuhito K — 19 Apr 2013
A poignant, coming-of-age movie that takes place in London, 1962, where people were under the threat of nuclear war. Considering the film's theme and the central idea, portraiting the threat of nuclear war seems unnecessary, but still this is a brilliant independent (in other words low budget) movie.
Elle Fanning is absolutely terrific (playing a 17 year old girl at the age of 13). Another cast do brilliantly too. It is beautifully shot, well-written, and smartly directed. Ginger & Rosa is heartwrenching.
