Review of Gimme Shelter (2013) by Shawn M — 29 May 2009
The perfect documentary to show the innocence of the late 1960s coming to a crashing halt - it has lots of stoned flower-children, just like 'Woodstock', but it has violence as well. Very sad to see that the peace-and-love message that was trying to be shared ended like it did.
Great music, of course (especially for big Stones fans), but watch the faces of the Stones onstage during the Altamont concert, as they realize just how out of control everything has gotten.
