A documentary on the 1968 free concert by the Rolling Stones at Altamont, in which a man was killed. Gimme Shelter is a powerful film that all at once is able to testify the power of rock and roll music, the madness of its mania but also the influence of cinema verité on documentary filmmaking, with its use of first hand footage.
