Review of Gilda (1946) by Sara C — 04 Aug 2007
Perhaps Rita Hayworth's finest film. She delivers as the sexy femme fatale and Glenn Ford is equally compelling to watch as Gilda's love interest. Issues of female sexuality, the oedipus complex and misogyny is at the forefront of this story.
The highlight of the film is when Hayworth performs "put the blame on mame," a performance that captures Hayworth as one of the true greats in Hollywood history.
