Review of Gilda (1946) by Jim N — 11 Aug 2008
Highly enjoyable and captivating, Rita Hayworth is a goddess when it comes to playing Gilda, you can't help but fall head over heals for her.
One of my personal fave film noirs because there's a little bit of a change in the genre with a lot more attention focusing on the femme fatale here than in any other.
Rita Hayworth is said femme fatale Gilda with Glenn Ford playing the male lead(and not the last time Hayworth and Ford show-off their chemistry, check out 'Affair in Trinidad'), there's many reasons to track down 'Gilda' crosses, double-crosses, forbidden love, Jealousy, gangsters, a sizzling striptease if you will, singing, and dancing. All these are good and besides the fact that you may be a film noir fan the main reason to see 'Gilda' is Rita Hayworth, that lady had it all.
