Review of Gilda (1946) by Irvin C — 29 Nov 2009
I can definitely why this is one of Rita Hayworth's most famous (some would say iconic) roles. Not only is she super-hot, sexy and sultry in this one but she actually nails what turns out to be a very complex role of a conflicted, flirtatious torch singer/trophy wife.
I was kind of shocked she didn't even get an Oscar nomination for this. Glenn Ford and George Macready are also terrific but it is Rita Hayworth's show all the way.
