Review of Gilda (1946) by Juan Manuel A — 10 Feb 2011
Hello Johnny, do you remember of my? I am your wife ..... ". One of the memorable phrases of a fascinating movie. A drama of love and jealousies with happy end that it marked an epoch and that still today we remember for Ford's famous slap to spanish Rita Hayworth (she's born in Seville, Spain).
Directed by Vidor with mastery and that it does not decline along his footage. It might fit as a movie of black series with a powerful script to the service of the protagonists. Well the principal protagonists and very well Steven Geray as Pious Uncle, the waiter philosopher.
A delight.
