"the night they invented champagne ... it's plain for all to see ... they thought of you & me" I watched this as a child, if you can believe it & was swept away by the songs. but looking back I guess the meaning was totally lost on me at that age.
still great fun, nonetheless ... "i don't understand the parisians!".
