Review of Gigi (1958) by Marilee A — 14 Nov 2011
"The Night They Invented Champagne........"one of my all time Favorite Musical Songs, I Love Love Love this Movie.I adore Leslie Caron, mainly because of this Delight of a Film where she plays a Precocious Teen being raised by an Aunt & Grandmother to follow into the art of Courtesan in the year 1900, Paris.
"Thank Heaven For Little Girls" is sung by Maurice Chevalier, the Playboy Uncle of Gaston Lachaille(Louis Jordan), the Family Friend that is the Love Interest that Gigi is being groomed to be Mistress of.When Gaston finally gets over that Gigi is not the Little Girl he has always thought of her,& he has given up his latest Mistress Liane(Eva Gabor), he finds Gigi her too good to be a Courtesan, this famous Playboy Bachelor has fallen in love with the irresitible Gigi.
Thank Heaven for Films Like this for Little & Big Girls.
