Sometimes a film is not the sum of its parts. Gidget has many entertaining elements, but this doesn't hide the fact that there are many incredibly slow sequences where the film has about as much life as a beached whale.
Still, it's a lot of fun and that shouldn't keep you from seeing it and reveling in the campy glory.
