Review of Giant (1956) by Jani K — 24 Oct 2007
The main reason to see this is James Dean as Jett Rink. He doesn't quite nail it in the second half when his character's middle-aged, but before then, he commands your attention; his performance simply towers over everyone else's.
Otherwise, the rest of the film is a bit too clunky, particularly the heavy-handed foreshadowing and moralizing.
