Review of Giant (1956) by Rômulo F — 08 Jan 2011
Though probably groundbreaking at its time for addressing themes such as misogyny and immigration, its soap-opera moralism gets in the way for Giant to stand the test of time. That said, direction and cinematography makes you time travel and almost ignore the sprawling storyline, and watching Liz Taylor at her prime and James Dean in his very last film will certainly make you lose your breath more than once.
