Review of Gia (1998) by Jack W — 07 Jun 2009
Captivating and powerful the fil features some really great things and some awful ones. the cinematography is excellent and different adding to the story of the film. the performance by Ruehl is good (reminiscent of MTM in Ordinary People) and of course Jolie is incredible.
what bothers me is the lack of depth to the narrative (it is a tv film) and the choice of music for the score. The music is so cheap it has the feel of one of those HBO series "Atlantic City Hookers" or something.
really devalues what you're watching.
