Having seen this movie on a few occasions over the years and having just recently gone through most of the original GI Joe series very recently made me kind of mad with this movie. compared to the series it just seemed to not fill its own shoes.

in almost every episode of the tv series you could depend on some crazy creative plot by cobra and a high amount of child safe action until the joes finally save the world. right off the bat serpentor and golobulous (?) turn cobra commander into a snake with some mutating spore.

the ancient creatures of cobralah and the army of cobra to take the world with a mutating spore activated by some electricy shooting device called the B.E.T. that GI Joe has. cobra commander turns into a snake and pretty much says only:"i was once a man" from the halfway mark until the end.

a lot of the old favourite joes could be seen from time to time in the background but I don't remember hearing them say much (or anything). a lot of time was wasted on introucing new joes that beechhead was training, sergeant slaughter and his posse as well as the whole Lt.

Falcon part played by don johnson (a real waste of time since he is pretty much Flint). it would've been great to see more of the greats like shipwreck, alpine, bazooka (the borderline retarded joe), sci-fi and all sorts of others who had main parts on the shows only to be ditched in their biggest moment before the show was bought up by someone else and made super kiddy 3 years later.

everything went to shit from there. I hope that the upcoming live action joe movie will perhaps surpass this movie, who knows? there was some good action in this movie but it would've been great to hear more from the old faces.

it also sucks that cobra commander got so ripped off. it was also pretty cool to have the great burgess meredith in this film in a major role too. hopefully the future of GI Joe will rise above all the shit they have been trying to spark it back to life with over the past 20 years.
