They call me Dick, but you can call me Dick!

A young man with a strange family history and experiences growing up inherits an old mansion. The spirit of the former owner enters the young man and he starts casting demonic spells that bring demons to Earth that he can control. The demons go on a killing spree led by the young man. Can his girlfriend show the young man the error of his way and get him turned around?

"I need to dismiss the spirit!".

"So do I. Where's the bathroom?".

Luca Bercovici, director of The Chain, Rockula, Dark Tide, Convict 762, Luck of the Draw, and The Granny, delivers Ghoulies in his directorial debut. The storyline for this picture is pretty weak and on par with Trolls, Puppet Master, and Leprechaun. The action was just okay but the little ghouls were well created. The acting was cliché 80s horror and nothing special.

"What did you do to your eyes?".

"It's a sign. A sign of power.".

I have always loved this film and enjoyed watching it. The first two films are in my DVD collection and I recently watched them again (excited about the upcoming Halloween). This is a below average addition to the genre, but I will say it is a must see for horror fans!

"Wolfgang is the only family I've ever known.".

Grade: D+/C-.
