Review of Ghostbusters (1984) by Adam S — 11 May 2013
The premise of "Ghostbusters" is a rather silly one, a true product of the 80's, and anyone who hasn't seen it since a child - and thus only remembers Ray Parker Jr's theme song and the giant StayPuft marshmallow man - could be forgiven for thinking this film is outdated and irrelevant.
However, watching it again, various factors make you realize how awesome it is. The scripted jokes, written by Dan Aykroyd, are fun, but it's the deadpan delivery (and occasional ad-lib) by comedic legend Bill Murray which truly makes this film. Murray and Aykroyd lead the whos who of the 80's cast which also includes Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Rick Moranis, all of whom lift this film.
If you need a classic cinema comedy, who else are you gonna call?
