Review of Ghost Story (1981) by Kevin H — 04 Mar 2010
A classic slow burner in the old school style, Ghost Story is an absolutely fantastic thriller than balances fright with plot in a way not seen anymore...unfortunately. Fairbanks, Astaire, Houseman and Douglas light up the screen as a group of old storytellers who may be harbouring a terrible secret.
Krige and Wasson dynamically control things as the modern leads, allowing the story to be brought to fruition...and what and ending it is. With some extremely shocking moments and a pounding soundtrack, Ghost Story is everything you will expect it to be and more.
Highly recommended.
