Review of Ghost Ship (2002) by Mark O — 08 Nov 2009
With an interesting and intriguing script some decent actors agreed to appear in this movie.
Which is unfortunate, as what was filmed bears no real relation to what was originally put forward. Apparently the cast was "sadly disappointed" by the film they ended up having to make, well I can agree with them on that one.
What makes all of this worse is that I've seen this film before, back when I was going through a phase of having a few bottles of wine a night and watching whatever came on.
Given those circumstances it was no surprise that I couldn't remember the ending.
With hindsight it's clear that it wasn't the alcohol depriving me of something but my brain trying to spare me the crushing disappointment that watching this movie induced.
There really is nothing good that I can say about the movie. From the plot to the pointless blasts of nu-metal clearly inserted to try and generate sound track sales it's a waste of time.
Avoid this film and make the sacrifice of someone who's seen it twice worth something.
Still, it's better than Stealth.
