Review of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) by Facebook U — 30 Apr 2015
This was a disappointing let down in a sequel. The essence of the Ghost Rider was completely lost in the second movie. The storyline was confusing to map to the first installment of the Ghost RiderT. (Did the producer even see the first movie?).
The flaming skull was half the size as the original and the character representation was cheesy at most. The Ghost Rider originally could not function in the light of the sun, however, in the second movie, there is a whole action sequence in the middle of the desert during the day.
It would be suprising if the producer, actually intended for a US audience as this does not have any attraction for the audience who actually related to the biker lore in the first movie. Think of it this way, how many people riding a European touring dirt bike are going to relate to the flames, skulls, and chains? Take a walk down main street in Sturgis, SD during the bike rally, it will be very clear how the biker culture could have embraced Ghost Rider.
Unfortunately, this moving was a fail at best, and could have easily been a 3 movie franchise if better managed.
