Just came back from Ghost In The Shell, the visual successor to Blade Runner whose concept remains stuck in 1980's dystopia.
Visually engaging until the style becomes a loop of itself. The story is **not** from the original 1995 anime but a rehash of the needless sequels? that thinned the plot out for $$$$.
Unless you're a millennial who's interested in bubble period dystopias, you don't need to spend money on this film.
The animated Ghost in the Shell had insightful ideas about reality, technology, and human evolution that engage minds. This live action wannabe-cash-cow is just a shell. Let it die at the box office.
