Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Damien Y — 07 Apr 2017
This is an epic film that derives very well from the source material to weave a brilliant narrative between the soul (ghost) and cyber technology. Beyond the excellent story crafting, there are tremendous action scenes that draw straight from the anime source material. The integration of the laughing man delves deep into the Majors genesis and takes a unique perspective. The story is at times touching and delves into the nuances of bridging technology and biology as well as the sometimes psychotic drive to progress technology in the wake of human lives.
This film is quite accessible to those not indoctrinated with the anime source material and provides an excellent cinematic experience.
