Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Esteban C — 14 Apr 2017

Great story. The telling of this story through this movie not so much.

There wasn't really a moment where I was like "a-ha!" or "oh wow!" throughout the film. Maybe because I saw the trailer and expected more than just the giant holographic images portrayed in it. But the story is good one and brings to light a lot of questions as to the soul or ghost inside the characters and what defines them.

There were moments when I recalled other films I've seen in the past that resembled what is shown in this film and made me think "Haven't I seen this before in..." So there's maybe a few of those scenes in this movie. Be prepared for that.

All in all it made me feeling that they could've done more for the film with a really good story to tell.
