Review of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) by Henry L — 10 Aug 2007
Stunningly super high quality detailed graphics & animation. I cannot stress enough how visually appealing this movie is. While slower paced & less action orientated than the first movie, this second movie offers a more thought provoking storyline.
It has a lot of substance to it and covers many things to think about. Is there any difference between synthetic & natural life once synthetic life becomes so sophisticated, and natural life is so augmented with synthetics? The value of synthetic life, human obsession with recreating themselves in an idealized form, your own perception of reality, and much more.
Overall, this is a definite recommended watch, if not for the story & thought provoking questions raised, then for the tremendously amazing animation.
