Review of Ghost in the Shell (1995) by Private U — 06 Jul 2009
I think this film is really well made. Good film which was sucessful in combining the outlook of cybernated near future and philosophical questioning to the fading boundary of 'me' and others. As the Chief Aramaki commented, Motoko is finding herself feeling that she had enough of the real world and her remarks of releasing herself from her cyborg body comes with the sequences of diving into the deep water and wandering in the rain, which I love personally.
I personally think, for her, meeting with the Puppet Master was a lucky thing.
