Review of Ghost in the Shell (1995) by James J — 11 Feb 2012
I love cyberpunk and I love the ideas presented in this film, but it just doesn't work here. I want it to so badly but this just drags on and on, making an 82 minute film feel much longer. It's not bad and maybe I'll revisit it again someday, but I want this to be better than it is.
Technically, it's good: great animation, fascinating story, awesome soundtrack -- but the execution falls flat.
