Review of Ghost in the Shell (1995) by Vasco M — 12 Apr 2015
Really good looking for its time, this adaptation works better on most levels than its manga counterpart, as it offers far better visuals and aesthetics but lacks some of the prior character development and intricacies of its world.
It worked really well for me though, as having been exposed to this universe beforehand gave me a better understanding of the jargon and events taking place in the movie, which might otherwise overwhelm newcomers.
Overall, it's really good and deserving of a viewing. Now for the 2008 remastered version...
